Aeroplan Visa Signature Card
Calculate how many Aeroplan Miles you can earn and the cash value of the Aeroplan Visa Signature (USA) based on spend, benefits, and the annual fee. Compare the results side by side against any rewards card.
The Aeroplan Visa Signature Card is the only card available to U.S.-based members for the Aeroplan Rewards Program. It provides very little in terms of earning and provides no benefits for those invested in flying with Aeroplan.
The Aeroplan Visa Signature Card feature one bonus category which is purchases made with Air Canada. There is no limit to the amount of Aeroplan Miles you can earn spending in the bonus categories and no limit to the amount of Aeroplan Miles you can earn overall running spend through the card.
2x Air Canada
The Aeroplan Visa Signature Card earns 2 Aeroplan Miles per $1 spent with Air Canada. This is a very low earning rate that can be beat by most cards that feature the bonus categories of airfare or travel. Membership Rewards Cards such as the AMEX Platinum or AMEX Gold can earn 5 points and 3 points, respectively, when used for Air Canada airfare and those points can be transferred at a 1 point to 1 mile ratio directly to your Aeroplan account. If you're trying to earn Aeroplan Miles, I recommend looking at Membership Rewards Point earning cards.
All non-Air Canada purchases on the Aeroplan Visa Signature Card will earn you 1 Aeroplan Mile per $1 spent. That makes this card a bad choice for non-category purchases as well. Cards such as the AMEX Blue Business Card earns 2x Membership Rewards Points per $1 spent which can transfer to Aeroplan for a total of 2 Aeroplan Miles. At most, you can even pick up a 1.5% cash back card like the Chase Freedom Unlimited or a 2% cash back card like the Citi Double Cash to earn a better value.
