The Discover IT Miles card is a good choice for anyone looking for a simple rewards program. You earn a flat rate of miles per $1 spent and redeem them for cash, statement credit, gift cards, and more. Do note that this is the only card that earns Discover Miles.
The Discover IT Miles card earns miles at a flat rate. There is no limit to the amount of miles you can earn with this card.
1.5x All Purchases
The Discover IT Miles Card earns an unlimited 1.5x miles on all purchases for every dollar spent. Since Discover IT Miles are worth one cent each, you will earn a 1.5% return on all purchases. Unlike the most of Discover's credit card line-up, this card does not have a quarterly cap or any rotating categories. It's earning structure is straightforward and easy to use. Several other cards offer a flat 1.5% return that have no annual fee such as the Capital One Quicksilver Card and Chase Freedom Unlimited Card.
Perks and Benefits
Discover IT Deals
The Discover IT Miles card offers access to Discover Deals which allows you to get cash back and money off everyday purchases. It's similar to AMEX Offers that American Express has with its cash back and Membership Reward Point earning credit cards. Once you log in, you can select a deal/coupon you want to use. You can then checkout using the Discover card to activate and redeem the deal/coupon.
Discover IT Match
Discover is most known for their Discover Match program in which Discover will match the amount of rewards you earned in your first year of using the card. This basically means that you'll be earning double the rewards the entire first year. So if you earned 50,000 Discover Miles by using your Discover IT Card the first year, Discover would match that and give you an additional 50,000 Miles. That makes the Discover IT Miles Card a 3x, no-annual-fee card the first year.
This benefit also applies to Discover's cash back credit cards.
Sign Up Bonus
The Discover IT Miles Card does not have the typical sign up bonus revolving around meeting a certain amount of spend within 90 days. Instead, they will double your first year of earnings. This means you will earn an additional 1.5x miles for a total of 3x Discover IT Miles per $1 spent. To make matters even better, this bonus is not capped meaning you can earned an unlimited return of 3% the whole year.
Credit Card Fees
|Authorized User Fee|
|Foreign Transaction Fee|
Just like all the other Discover Cards, the Discover IT Miles Card does not have an annual fee. You will end up in the positive when using the card to earn rewards.
Authorized User Fee
The Discover IT Miles Card does not charge a fee for adding authorized users. Due to the double miles sign up bonus, I recommend adding additional users to help maximize the bonus and rake in the rewards!
Foreign Transaction Fee
The Discover IT Miles card does not have a foreign transaction fee so you can earn rewards worldwide without taking the value out of your miles.
