AMEX Blue Business Plus Points Calculator
Calculate total Membership Rewards Points based on your spend across the AMEX Blue Business Plus Card and compare results side by side hundreds of cards.
If you're looking to earn Membership Rewards Points, I highly recommend picking up the Blue Business Plus Card. It earns double points on the first $50,000 in purchases which makes it great for earning points in categories that other Membership Rewards Points earning cards would only earn 1 point per $1 spent.
The Blue Business Plus Card earns Membership Rewards Points at a flat rate. While there is a cap on the flat rate bonus, there is no cap on the total amount of points you can earn overall with the card.
2x All Purchases
The Blue Business Plus Card earns 2 Membership Rewards Points per $1 spent on everything up to $50,000. Once you hit the cap, all additional purchases will earn 1 Membership Rewards Point per $1 spent. That makes the Blue Business Plus a great card for non-category purchases and an excellent pair to just about any Membership Rewards Credit Card.
+1 AMEX Travel Bonus
Purchases made through the American Express travel portal on the Blue Business Plus Card will earn 1 additional Membership Rewards Point per $1 spent. This is on top of how many points you would normally earn with the card. If you have not passed the $50,000 threshold for the 2x point bonus, you'll earn a total of 3 Membership Rewards Points per $1 spent on purchases through the portal. If you have passed the threshold, you will earn a total of 2 Membership Rewards Points per $1 spent.
Perks and Benefits
Expanded Buying Power
The Blue Business Plus Card allows you to spend beyond your designated credit limit. You will be allowed to spend up to a hidden cap that adjusts with the use of the card, payment history, credit history, and other financial factors known to AMEX. Any spend over the limit will be due during the next statement along with the minimum payment amount.
Standard AMEX Benefits
The Blue Business Plus Card features several of the standard benefits that comes on most American Express credit cards. This includes, but is not limited to:
- American Express Presale Tickets
- AMEX Offers
- Roadside Assistance
- Baggage Insurance
- Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance
- Extended Warranty
- Purchase Protection
- Travel Accident Insurance
Sign Up Bonus
The standard Blue Business Plus card sign up bonus is 10,000 Membership Rewards Points after $3,000 spend within the first three months. Higher signup bonuses of 15,000 to 20,000 Mebmership Rewards Points are offered occasionally. You can sometimes trigger higher signup bonuses when using incognito/private browsing mode while applying for AMEX credit cards. Welcome bonuses with AMEX are once per lifetime so always be sure to go for the highest bonus available if you can!
Credit Card Fees
|Authorized User Fee|
|Foreign Transaction Fee|
The Blue Business Plus Card annual fee is $0 which is why this card is such a great deal. While it's easy to redeem Membership Rewards Points for a value of 1 cents each, anyone who can redeem them for higher value thanks to transfer partners, can get an excellent return without worrying about an annual fee!
Authorized User Fee
The Blue Business Plus Card has a $0 authorized user fee. This allows you to add multiple friends, family, or employees to your card in order to build even more Membership Rewards Points.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The Blue Business Plus has a foreign transaction fee of 2.7%. This makes it a bad choice for anyone that was hoping to earn double Membership Rewards Points on international purchases. If you're looking to earn AMEX points on miscellenous spend, your best bet will be the Everyday Preferred as it can earn up to 1.5x points per $1 spent on non-category spend.
You can use this rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you minus the fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card against another card in the same calculator.
All category spend entered in the primary card's column will carry over to all credit card pages on the site so you don't have to re-enter the same information over again.
