Rakuten Credit Card
Review the benefits of the Rakuten Credit Card (Ebates), calculate how much extra cash back you can earn based on spend, and compare results to top cards.
The Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card is a great choice for anyone that uses the Rakuten Rewards program and shop through their portal. Members who use this card will earn a minimal of 3% cash back on all Rakuten.com, In-Store Cash Back offers, and Travel purchased through the Rakuten website. If you're familiar with Rakuten, you know that they offer as much as 10%+ cash back on certain stores and earning an additional 3% on top of that can be extremely valuable. If used correctly when shopping, you can earn thousands in cash back per year.
The Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card earns a flat rate of cash back on top of the cash back offered by the portal. There is not specifically any bonus categories associated with the card. There's no limit to the amount of cash back you can earn with the Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card. Below are the details on how this card earns you cash.
+3% Cash Back
Any shopping done through hundreds of stores and businesses listed on Rakuten.com will earn you an additional 3% cash back when you use the Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card and use the portal to start the shopping trip. Do note that this is in addition to the cash back Rakuten is already offer for you to shop there.
For example, if you shop with eBags and use Rakuten to start the shopping trip, you will earn 12% for using Rakuten and an additional 3% for using the Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card for a total of 15% back on eBags. That's an excellent return since eBags doesn't really fall under any specific categories on many reward cards. As you can see, using this portal can save you hundreds if not thousands a year. Combine it with either the Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card or a co-branded card with the listed store or business and you will come out ahead easily.
1% Cash Back
Any spending on the Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card outside of using the Rakuten Portal will earn you 1% cash back. This is a relatively low rate that can be put on a 1.5% or higher cash back card such as the Capital One Quicksilver or Chase Freedom Unlimited.

There's no real perks and benefits to the Rakuten Cash Back Visa Card. It features the standard Visa Zero Fraud Liability and Visa Return Protection to give you some comfort over online purchases.
